// Frequently Asked Questions

What does the date next to the exchange rates mean?

That date is the business date supplied by the rate dataset response (often Frankfurter/ECB's published date field). Your local calendar day may differ. If you see a banner about saved rates, the numbers reflect your last successful online fetch until you refresh while connected.

How often are exchange rates updated?

Rates are built from European Central Bank (ECB) reference data, typically published on business days. Koverts fetches them through the Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.dev) when you load or refresh the page. If that endpoint is unavailable, backup public rate feeds may be used so the tool still works.

Which currencies does Koverts support?

The converter lists 100+ traditional currency codes, including USD, EUR, GBP, MXN, CAD, CNY, CNH, JPY, INR, PHP, AED, and many regional currencies for travel, remittances, and cross-border estimates.

Are the exchange rates accurate?

They follow ECB reference-style data, which is widely used as a benchmark. Retail banks, card networks, and money changers add spreads, fees, and timing differences, so the number on screen may not match your exact bank quote.

Why does my bank show a different rate?

Banks and card processors apply their own margins and may use different cut-off times or liquidity providers. Koverts shows a mid-market style reference for education and quick estimates, not a binding trading price.

Is the currency converter free to use?

Yes. Koverts is free to use with no account or subscription.

What is the base currency for calculations?

You can pick any listed currency as the from base. Internally, rates are combined so that any pair can be computed consistently with the same dataset shown in the table.

Does Koverts support cryptocurrency conversion?

No. This page focuses on traditional currencies from the supported exchange-rate dataset. Cryptocurrency conversion is not offered here.

Disclaimer: Exchange rates are derived from European Central Bank reference data via the Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.dev) and related public feeds.
